Afternoon: Cooking Together

Our friends arrived just before noon, filling our home with laughter and energy. There was Hana, my best friend from college, and her husband, Kenji, as well as Sora and Ayumi, a fun-loving couple we met through work. We all gathered in the kitchen, ready to start our culinary adventure.

Ryu and I decided to make a variety of dishes from different Asian cuisines. We split into teams: Ryu and Kenji took charge of the grill outside, preparing Korean BBQ. Hana and Ayumi were in charge of making sushi and sashimi, while Sora and I focused on creating a Thai-inspired curry.

The kitchen was a whirlwind of activity and chatter. Hana showed Ayumi how to perfectly roll sushi, while Sora and I carefully balanced the flavors in the curry. The smell of grilled meat wafted in from the backyard, making everyone’s mouths water. Ryu and Kenji were joking and laughing, having a great time manning the grill.
